Developing Advanced Tutor-based Language Learning
(a 2-day workshop in Siem Reap)
Are you an intermediate/ advanced Khmer learner?
Do you feel your Khmer language has plateaued, or perhaps you can get no further with a tutor?
Do you want to move on from just learning new words, but not sure how?
G2K is offering a 2-day workshop in Siem Reap for intermediate/ advanced learners.
Here you will learn practical ideas, techniques and activities that will tackle these issues and move your learning on.
Day 1: 19 January 2018 (8.30am – 4.00pm)
Day 2: 20 January 2018 (8.30am – 4.00pm)
At the end of these fun and engaging sessions, you will be able to drive your own learning with your existing tutor, or to find one, and get the best quality and value out of the time they are tutoring you, and therefore your language learning budget!
With material adapted from G2K’s own Level 7 and 8 curriculum, Director of Studies Louise Wallis will lead the workshops, working with one of our highly experienced teachers to teach theory and demonstrate techniques.
These workshops are designed to be very hands on and will be extremely useful for anyone who is working with at a tutor (or wants to find one) and can already read some Khmer.
Gateway to Khmer (G2K) is Cambodia’s leading Khmer language school. Based in Phnom Penh we offer a comprehensive learning program, trained teachers and regular assessment for all students. A variety of class-based options are available, including new evening classes.
We want to enable expatriates in Cambodia to thrive, to integrate well into their new communities, to meet, work with and serve people using the local language, and to do so with respect for Khmer culture.
The school opened in 2014, and all are welcome. Students are diverse in nationality and purpose in Cambodia, and while most work for NGO’s, schools, and church/ mission organisations, others work for international agencies, private businesses or simply have a personal interest in learning Khmer.
